Breakfast spices from Sorrento

How to pep up breakfast dishes (and not only ...) with the two spices, that to my mind, encompass the essential taste of the Sorrento Peninsula. Wild oregano, dried but still keeping its unique and typical taste that is so taken for granted here, and red peperoncino - dried chili flakes.

With these spices, you succeed in sproucing up any dish, from scrambled eggs, to bacon, even mozzarella and tomatoes which are eaten here for breakfast. There are some hotels here in Sorrento that serve the red-green spice mixture for breakfast. But it is also an easy manner to take home with you the taste of the Costiera.
